This is repeated until the current meter pointer does not swing when the closure contacts are closed, indicating that the closing voltage is appropriate.
2. Adjust the pressure regulation value by connecting two dry cells in series with the battery and the ammeter and connect it to the battery terminal of the regulator. Start the engine and gradually increase the speed. Observe the pointer of the ammeter while the regulator is working. If the current meter pointer swings to the “+†direction, it means that the voltage regulation value is high, and the spring tension should be reduced; if the current meter pointer swings to the “-†direction, it means that the voltage regulation value is low and the spring tension should be increased. This is repeated until the current meter pointer does not oscillate until the regulator is activated. This means that the regulator value is appropriate.
