The juveniles [weight (0.350.12) g] and sea cucumbers [(5.01.2) g] were stocked in a static container during the wintering period for 90 days. During the entire trial, the levels of ammonia nitrogen and nitrite in the co-culture group were lower than in the control group (reservoir only). There were no deaths in the experimental groups, but the growth and survival rates of the co-culture groups were high, indicating that co-formulation of hatchery and sea cucumber can reduce the organic nitrogen content of edema and promote growth. This kind of co-culture approach seems to be beneficial and can be used as a substitute for breeding methods that rely on warming over the winter.
