In view of the different habits of the two wheat spiders, and the annual rainfall during the wheat growing season in our province is relatively small, the common wheat spiders occur lighter and the wheat leg spiders are heavier. However, this year due to heavy snowfall in our province from November 9th to 12th, the wheat cover covered a long period of time, and the top layer of the wheat field maintained a relatively high moisture status for a long time, which created suitable conditions for the large-scale propagation of the Maiyuan spider. In the past, wheat fields with a large number of insect populations showed serious damage this year. Because Maiyuan spiders are more afraid of light and there are more leaves in the morning and evening and on cloudy days, many farmers have not observed them in time and cannot find them in time, resulting in damage to the wheat seedlings. The wheat spiders have strong cold resistance, and in winter, they can still climb in warm and sunny weather. To the wheat leaf on the hazard, it should be timely observation and prevention. Because the efficacy of most pesticides is greatly affected by temperature, the effect of preventing and controlling the efficacy of pesticides is not ideal when the temperature is low. Therefore, in the winter, in addition to controlling wheat spiders, it is necessary to select agents that are less sensitive to temperature, such as omethoate.
