Biochemical technology improves roughage quality
The project of new technologies for feed microbes and salinized stalks undertaken by Zhoukou City in Henan Province has achieved remarkable results. This project has for the first time proposed a composite straw processing technology in the world, which exceeds various technical indicators in the same technical field. The technology leader, Professor Zhang Weixian of the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Expert Group, proposed for the first time the use of bio-chemical composite treatment methods to improve the quality of roughage, which was listed as a key promotion project by the State Council. The compound treatment of straw silage, ammoniation, and microorganisms has the dual effects of ammoniation and microbial treatment, and solves the shortcomings of silage, ammoniation, and microbial treatment in practical applications. At present, the project has accumulatively obtained 7.44 million yuan in economic benefits and 290 million yuan in social benefits. The increase in production performance and economic benefits of this technology was: 6.3% and 15.3% higher than ammoniating, 45.5%, 111.7% higher than simple microorganisms, and 57.1% and 134.4% higher than untreated straw.
