First, increase the calcium content of feed

As the egg production rate of chickens increases, the demand for calcium increases significantly, and the calcium content in feed needs to increase accordingly. (1) According to research, feeding layer chickens with a diameter of 1.4-5.6 mm and a solubility range of 11%-14% can significantly improve the quality of egg shells. However, when limestone is selected as the calcium source, attention should be paid to the content of magnesium and fluorine. If the magnesium content is too high, soft shell eggs may be produced, and excessive fluorine may cause the shells to be easily damaged and the shell color becomes lighter. (2) Usually the hen's egg yolk enters the uterus in the afternoon. If the calcium supply is insufficient during the afternoon to dusk, it will affect the eggshell calcification, so the afternoon is the best time for calcium supplementation. (3) to ensure the protein content of the feed, because the protein produced by the hydrolysis of amino acids and calcium react to generate soluble calcium salt, enhance the absorption of calcium in laying hens. (4) To master the appropriate ratio of calcium to phosphorus, although the phosphorus content in the eggshell is relatively small, it determines the elasticity and toughness of the eggshell. If the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is imbalanced, it will affect the full absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus in the chicken body.

Second, scientific management

(1) Increase the number of quail eggs appropriately. Picking eggs at least 2 times in the morning and at least once in the afternoon can effectively reduce the number of broken eggs. (2) The daily management should adopt the keeping staff, working procedures, and feedstuffs fixed to minimize the surprise noise caused by sudden noise, so as to avoid the chickens from producing soft shell eggs and sand shell eggs. Also try to avoid or reduce the number of vaccination during the laying of eggs to avoid frightening chickens. (3) In daily management, provide enough clean drinking water for chickens and avoid water cutoff.

Third, the proper adjustment of layer feed in summer

(1) In summer, the temperature is high and the feed intake of laying hens is reduced. Therefore, the concentration of protein, minerals, and vitamins in the diet should be appropriately increased to ensure that the birds can consume sufficient amounts of nutrition. (2) In the state of stress such as high temperature and high humidity, adding appropriate amount of Vitamin C can increase the strength of eggshell, improve the composition of eggshell and reduce the breakage rate. (3) In the summer high temperature season, adding a certain percentage of sodium bicarbonate to the layer diet can both increase the egg production rate and greatly reduce the egg breakage rate.
