Japan: Feed Adding Garlic Powder to Improve Meat Flavor

At present, one problem commonly reflected in the aquaculture industry is that livestock and poultry fed with compound feeds have increasingly weaker flavours, making consumers more and more reluctant to accept them. The reason is that the main component of the amino acid that can contribute to the flavour of livestock and poultry meat is relatively scarce in the general compound feed. Therefore, the livestock and poultry kept mainly by compound feed have a lower aroma of meat.
Research at Osaka's Shandan poultry farm in Japan shows that garlic powder can effectively regulate and stimulate the formation of amino acids with various flavors in meat. Therefore, 0.2% to 0.8% of garlic powder is added to the feed of livestock and poultry once a week. The meat produced is especially delicious and has a significant effect on the growth and weight gain of livestock and poultry.
