How to prevent the lodging of wheat

The lodging of wheat is rooted and the stem is lodging, and it is common that the lodging of stems is common. Root lodging is due to poor root development, deep rooting, and small and weak secondary roots that cannot support the weight of the aerial parts. The stem lodging is mainly caused by the undeveloped mechanical organization of the stem base, and the first and second nodes of the stem base are too long. The main reason is that the group is too large, or the application of nitrogen fertilizer is too much.

Practice has proved that, in addition to targeted selection of lodging-resistant varieties, improvement of soil preparation quality and quality of planting, the prevention of wheat lodging must also be well managed in the field of wheat returning to the jointing stage.

First, repression should be carried out early on wheat fields with an imperishable trend to prevent prosperous growth. After the spring, further deep ploughing is needed to cut off part of the old roots, promote new root growth, and increase the lodging resistance of wheat.

Second, control the use of returning green manure, rational management of fertilizer. In addition to insufficient base fertilizer, poorly soiled plots or late-seeding wheat fields and weak seedling plots where fertilization is insufficient, the use of nitrogen fertilizers should be reduced to control wheat growth and promote the growth of wheat stalks.

Third, the rational use of plant growth regulators. There are:

(1) Before wheat is jointed, use 15% paclobutrazol as a warm powder for each acre and dilute evenly with 50 kg water;

(2) Before the jointing of wheat, use 50% of the chlormequat water solution per acre in 25 to 50 ml, and spray 30 to 40 kg of water after spraying;

(3) before the wheat rises, use 15-20 millilitres of melatonin or 3.5 to 5 grams of metstractamine powder per acre and spray 40 kilograms of water after spraying.
