Peru will stop importing pharmaceutical products from 70 Chinese manufacturers

Dongge said that due to the lack of a “Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate (BPM)” issued by the Ministry of Health of Peru, 70 Chinese pharmaceutical companies will not be able to continue exporting medicines to Peru. The division will submit the list to the Peruvian State Taxation Administration (SUNAT), requesting the customs to intercept the products of these pharmaceutical plants. He disclosed that 69 Chinese drug companies did not submit applications, one application filed but did not receive BPM, and these 70 factories would not be able to continue exporting pharmaceutical products to Peru. Three other Chinese companies have already obtained the BPM issued by the Ministry of Health, and 46 other pharmaceutical factories are under evaluation.

According to the "Pharmaceutical Product Law" (Law No. 29459), imported pharmaceutical products must provide a copy of the manufacturer's BMP for customs clearance.
