China needs to deepen health care reform: focus on "people-centered"

The World Bank said in a new report on Friday (July 22) that China needs to deepen its health care reforms to avoid the risk of creating a high-cost, low-value health care system observed in some high-income countries.

According to the World Bank report, since 2008, China's medical cost increase has been higher than GDP growth. This situation is further magnified by a rapidly aging society and the burden of non-communicable diseases that have become the number one health threat for Chinese residents.

The report also said that if the reforms are not carried out as usual, the growth rate of China's total medical expenditure will increase from 5.6% of GDP in 2015 to 9.1% in 2035, and the actual annual growth rate is 8.4%.

Healthcare is a key component of China's “new economy.” The “new economy” is dominated by consumer-led industries, including the Internet and renewable energy, and has become a key beneficiary of government investment, as Chinese executives seek to “make” The new economy has replaced old industries such as heavy industry as the key growth engine for the Chinese economy.

The report also said that if the Chinese government can slow down the main drivers behind the rise in medical costs, including the cost of each treatment and the increase in unit costs, then the Chinese government will save 3% of its domestic GDP.

In order to achieve the goal of saving money, the World Bank has proposed eight policy options to make the health care system more efficient than the current “hospital-centric, fragmented and quantity-oriented” framework.

Cooling Agent

Cooling Agent, is a general term for all the chemicals that can produce cooling effects and are not strong. The most common Cooling Agent is menthol (especially L-menthol), but it should not be used in large quantities due to its strong odor and strong irritation to the skin, mucous tissue, and eyes. Therefore, many scientists have synthesized and extracted a new generation of cooling agent.
